My name is Kojima, and I will be serving as the host and facilitator of this course.

In this course, we will mainly focus on the development and design of a "smartwatch."

We will also create tools necessary for the development of the smartwatch.

This course will be conducted in Japanese, English, and Arabic.

First, we will create the core "clock function."

This smartwatch will use an ultra-compact LCD display to show and communicate information.

Here, we assume the cost of the LCD display to be around 1 dollar.

Below is a photo of the actual LCD display that will be used.

To help you get a sense of the actual size of the LCD display, a Japanese 50-yen coin is placed next to it.

The cost required to implement the initial "clock function" is estimated to be around 2 dollars.

In the initial stage, we will not design the frame or band of the smartwatch.

However, we will cover the design method for these parts at an appropriate time later in the course.

Starting tomorrow, we will begin developing the electronic circuit and software for the smartwatch.
